School-To Work Transition
Services

Transition Services are available to all disabled students 16
years of age or older referred by their school district.
Services include:
- Consultative Service
Our professional staff is available to assist Child Study
Teams, parents, and students during the development of the
Individual Educational Program, and in making recommendations
regarding available options for successful transition services.
- Vocational Evaluation
This is a short-term service that assists students in identifying
work preferences, capabilities, and aptitudes in order to
provide useful information to be used in developing vocational
plans. Standardized testing and assessment inventories are
used to determine performance levels, relative strengths,
functional limitations, interests, and vocational potential.
- Employee Development Services
This Center-Based Employment Service
provides work experience in a structured supervised setting
in order to develop appropriate work habits, behaviors,
interpersonal skills, stamina, adjustment to the work routine,
and improve work performance.
- Employment Services
Employment Services are offered through Employment
Pathways , a Division of Abilities of Northwest Jersey,
Inc.

The Employment Transition program at Abilities has been accredited
by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities).
