Abilities earns a three year accreditation from CARF

CARF International announced that Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. has been accredited for a period of Three years for its Employment Services in Community Employment Job Development, Community Employment Job Supports, Community Employment Job-Site Training, Comprehensive Vocational Evaluation, Employee Development, Employment Transition and Organizational Employment Services.  The latest accreditation is the 8th three-year Accreditation outcome that the international accrediting body has awarded to Abilities.

 

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF.  An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality, measurable, and accountable.  To view the 2007 Carf Survey report for Abilities, click the reports/newsletter tab.

PAUL STERBENZ JOINS ABILITIES BOARD OF DIRECTORS

PAUL STERBENZ, PRINCIPAL OF MASER CONSULTING,

APPOINTED TO BOARD OF ABILITIES OF NW JERSEY

 

 

 Maser Consulting P.A., one of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania’s leading engineering firms, announces that Paul M. Sterbenz, P.E., P.P., C.M.E., a principal of the firm, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc.

 

Abilities of Northwest Jersey, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community rehabilitation program providing vocational training and employment services since 1974 to the disabled and disadvantaged population of Warren, Hunterdon and Morris Counties.  Currently, Abilities operates five employment Centers located throughout Warren County and serves approximately 350 individuals on a daily basis.

 

Mr. Sterbenz has been involved with the Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC) for the past twelve years.  “I was looking to increase my involvement in providing support for the disabled and made an inquiry about Abilities of Northwest Jersey.  When there was an opening, I was selected to fill the opening.  It is my goal from hereon to contribute my skills and knowledge to helping Abilities of Northwest Jersey achieve its goals and objectives.” 

 

Mr. Sterbenz manages the firm’s Clinton office and is a licensed professional engineer, professional planner, certified municipal engineer and a certified public works manager.  He has experience in all aspects of civil, structural and traffic engineering and serves as the municipal engineer, planning board and zoning board engineer for a number of the Maser Consulting’s clients.   He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University and is a resident of Alexandria Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
